You're Invited!
Immanuel Baptist Church invites all
those who have given up on church to give us a try. We are not perfect by any
means, but we are different than a lot of churches.
We value relationships over doctrine.
We welcome your doubts and encourage questions.
We welcome, accept, and affirm our
LGBTQ sisters and brothers (God accepts your sexual orientation and we do too)
We believe that loving God and
loving/treating our neighbor as ourselves (Matt. 22:34-40) is our most
important task.
We seek to embody the inclusive, unconditional love of Christ
as our first priority. Everything else is secondary.
We support in various ways community
work that seeks to help our most vulnerable like the Women’s Shelter, Simon
House, Soup Kitchen, Food Pantry, etc.
We financed the building of a
maternity clinic in Zambia, and continue to finance wells for clean water and
provide educational opportunities for rural African communities
We operate an Infant Resource Center
that helps struggling families meet the basic needs of infants and newborns.
We have a Relay for Life team that has
consistently been at the top in raising money for cancer research.
We completely reject partisan
politics, though we work for equality and restorative justice – the kind of
justice that advocates for and comes to the aid of the marginalized and
disadvantaged.
We believe that we are called to be
good stewards in taking care of our planet.
We believe in working for the common
good of all people, not just our particular group.
We affiliate with the Cooperative
Baptist Fellowship and the Alliance of Baptists, but no group determines who we
are or are becoming.
Don’t give up on church. We need one
another. Each Sunday our pastor says: Thank you for being here. Your presence
is a gift to this community. He means it. We meet for worship at 1075 Collins
Lane, Frankfort, next to Collins Lane Elementary School at 10:30 am on Sundays.
We would love to see some new faces.
